Imagine a community where everyone belongs...
Wouldn’t that be a wonderful place?

For the past 59 years, Rauch, Inc. has committed its time, staff, resources, passion and energy to bringing such an amazing vision into reality. We have served our clients and their families with respect and dedication, and along the way, the community has joined with us, providing much needed volunteer and financial support. We are excited to share with you that Rauch, Inc. has embarked upon a new endeavor which will position our organization to be able to continue to provide quality core services, and to extend our reach to the next level of our service delivery continuum.

As implied in our logo and tagline, Rauch, Inc. sees itself as one of the needed building blocks of the Southern Indiana community, and we choose to act upon that calling by announcing the public launch of a comprehensive campaign which will allow us to build a solid operating position for our organization, build capacity into our community’s offerings for clients, and build an awareness of Rauch’s needs for the future. We have already accomplished much in regard to this effort. Thanks to the generous support we received from community members like YOU, the campaign total is currently at an amazing $3,028,255!

We were, quite simply, overwhelmed by the community’s support of Rauch in 2011. To date, a remarkable 160 individuals, client family members, businesses, and foundations have made the success of the Building Blocks Campaign a reality. For that, we cannot THANK YOU enough!

Rauch still has additional funding needs beyond the current campaign total, and we continue to work to raise funds to ensure we are able to meet all of our goals. In addition to the construction of the clubhouse and park at Hawthorn Glen, we are seeking funds to:

  • Implement a desperately needed new telephone system
  • Install air conditioning at Rauch Industries
  • Increase security and functionality by remodeling the entrance to Rauch Industries
  • Upgrade lighting at Rauch Industries for better quality light and increased energy efficiency
  • Purchase two new vans for transporting clients, a forklift for Rauch Industries, and furnishings for the clubhouse and four new homes at Hawthorn Glen

Just under $17,000 in additional dollars is needed to accomplish these goals for the betterment of our current and future clients. If you have not contributed to our campaign, you can do so by donating online now or simply writing a check and including a pledge card.

Thank you for your consideration of a contribution or pledge. If you have questions or need more information, please do not hesitate to contact Teressa Jackson, Director of Development, at tjackson@rauchinc.org or

Sincerely,

The goals for the "Building Blocks" campaign are comprehensive,
far-reaching, and achievable...

In order to continue to provide exemplary services to our clients, their families, and the community, Rauch, Inc. has engaged in a Comprehensive Fund Development Campaign. Our strategy for the public portion of the campaign involves the following components, priorities for Rauch as clearly elucidated in our Strategic Plan:

Building the organization - Rauch, Inc. has a respected, long standing reputation in the community as a conscientious, deliberative provider of core services for persons with disabilities. In order to keep the organization strong, we must continue to have a stable unrestricted source of funding for program development, technological improvements, and other expenses associated with maintaining institutional efficiency and programmatic flexibility.

Building new opportunities for clients and families - Rauch, Inc. also realizes that, in addition to core services that must be provided, clients’ needs change and evolve over time. To be truly efficient, Rauch must be in tune with such changes and able to offer new programming that accommodates change. One example of such evolution is the development of supported living opportunities for our clients in the community.

Building a foundation for Rauch’s future - With the receipt of the gift from the Rasmussen estate, the Rauch Foundation was created to establish both a culture and a vehicle of long-term fund development at Rauch, Inc. This tool enables the organization to weather changes in policy, funding, and client need over the years. To further improve our ability to be prepared for whatever the future brings, Rauch relies on you to be a partner in securing that future by considering an investment in the Rauch Foundation, either now or in your estate plan.

The time to act is now; our clients and families are relying on us.
Are you up to the challenge?

We are excited about the prospect of things yet to come for Rauch, Inc., and the stakeholders that we serve. With your financial support through the Building Blocks Comprehensive Campaign, your continued advocacy for persons with disabilities, and your willingness to share our message of hope with your friends, family and colleagues, we are sure to reach our goals. More importantly, however, is the prospect that we will build, one block at a time, a community where everyone belongs.

Thank you for your past, present and future support of Rauch, Inc.!

“Building for the Future,
One Block at a Time”

The needs of our clients and their families are real, are urgent, and must be met...

We measure our success by the degree to which we are able to enhance the quality of life of our clients and their families; to affect such change, we assemble the blocks in the tower one by one, remain diligent to weak spots in the tower, and ensure that a strong and stable foundation of core services is always available.

We are building for Sam...
Sam has been a client and an employee at Rauch Industries for the past 15 years. Each day, Sam catches a ride with the Rauch staff and comes to work. Sam doesn’t know about Wall Street or about Washington D.C., but Sam knows all about margarita salt. You see, it’s Sam’s job to make sure that the margarita salt processed by Rauch Industries for one of its many corporate partners is measured correctly, is sealed appropriately, is boxed in accordance with proper standards and measures, and is ready for shipment on time. Sam’s disability is the last thing on his or anyone else’s mind when he’s at Rauch; he just knows that he’s giving back and making money. He is contributing to his community in a rewarding and meaningful way, and that makes Sam proud.

We are building for Kate...
Kate began attending Adult Developmental Activities (ADA) when she was still in high school. A beautiful bright young woman with severe and persistent physical disabilities, Kate was a challenge to both her parents and school caregivers. The staff at ADA never fails to rise to a challenge, however, and within weeks Kate had made great progress in communication, feeding, and social interaction. It wasn’t until Kate’s first trip to The Studio, though, that the real magic began. With a variety of artistic media through which Kate could express her feelings and emotions, her art became her voice. Kate’s works now hang in many of New Albany’s business offices, as she is a prolific artist with a sharp eye for detail and color. She is contributing to her community in a rewarding and meaningful way, and that makes Kate proud.

We are building for the Fischers...
When the Fischers’ daughter Tina was born, their lives were forever changed. The blessing of a new baby was accompanied by the challenge inherent in being the parents of a child with special needs. Finding Rauch, Inc. early in Tina’s life was pivotal for the Fischers, and together they became partners with Rauch to provide the best care and the best life for Tina. Now, nearly 40 years later, the Fischers know that their time on earth is drawing to a close and are thankful that Tina lives in one of Rauch’s Assisted Living homes. They have comfort in the realization that Rauch will continue to provide a safe, productive place for Tina to live and thrive. To ensure the longevity of the program, the Fischers have named Rauch, Inc.’s Supported Living program as a beneficiary of their estate. They are contributing to Tina’s community in a rewarding and meaningful way, and that makes Tina proud.

At Rauch, we encounter stories like these on a daily basis, as our clients and their families share with us their struggles to meet today’s needs and plan for tomorrow’s inevitabilities. Further, we wrestle not only with changes in funding and protocols, but also changes in the physical, mental, cognitive, and emotional needs of our clients. As an organization, we must constantly be able to make changes in our service delivery methods that will accommodate the expectations of all stakeholders. Your support has enabled us to focus on our mission for almost 60 years. We must continue to have your involvement and support if we are to be able to build an inclusive community for all who we serve.
